In Spain, schooling until the age of 16 is a right and an obligation. Any child or teenager in the schooling system has the right to education independently of their being Spanish or their parents being born in any other country. 1. All the students are entitled to their physical and moral integrity and their personal dignity being respected. 2. The students are entitled to receive a formation that assures the full development of their personality. 3. The also have the right to a school shift that suits their age. 4. Every student is entitled to the same opportunities to access the different teaching levels. 5. A policy of non discrimination for reason from birth, race, sex, economic capacity, social level and political, moral or religious convictions should apply. 6. The student is entitled to a fully objective assessment. 7. Those and the students or their parents, mothers or tutors will be able to claim the result that it is adopted when concluding a cycle or course. 8. Every student is entitled to receive both school and professional orientation. The system will be especially careful about fulfilling this orientation role in the cases of students with special needs be them, physical, psychological social, etc. 9. The student is entitled to their academic activity to take place in a healthy and safe environment. 10. Educational institutions will have the responsibility to contact the education inspectors should there be any irregularity in the treatment of a student. 11. Students are entitled to take part in school activities and in school administration. 12. The student is entitled to freedom of speech without prejudice to the rights of other educational community members. 13. The student is entitled to use the school facilities according to the extracurricular activities planning. The students’ duties are:1. Participating in formative activities and in the ones aiming at curricular development. 2. Being punctual. 3. Following school guidelines regarding education and learning issues. 4. Collaborating in the improvement of school coexistence and keeping an appropriate study climate in the school, respecting the right of their school mates and teachers. |
