How to get your Health Card

 
Many English people, who are living in Spain who have registered and have received their certificacion de empadronamiento, do not know that they have a right to health assistance.

To get this assistance, you must have your certificacion de empadronamiento, and then you must go to the social security centre:

Fax: 953 580511

And ask for your health card (tarjeta sanitaria).

There you will be informed about the forms and documents you need to bring and you will be given a sheet to fill in with your personal information.
 
I recommend you to take all the paperwork you have relating to you, certificado de empadronamiento, passport, NIE certificate and probably your escritura too, (bring everything!), and avoid going twice.
 
That's all, now you have your card!
