Jaen   Paraiso Interior (Inland Paradise)

About 1 hour drive North from Alcalá La Real is the provincial capital of Jaen. The city is dominated by the Santa Catalina Castle and a must see is "Ruta De Los Castillo y Batallas" (The Route of The Castle and Battlements). There is a Museum on the way into the city called "Museo De La Batalla de las Navas De La Tolosa" which specialises in the history of a battle between King Alphonso VIII of Castille and the Muslim Caliph of Al-Andalus, in the year 1212. This battle is reputed to have changed the course of history in Spain.

There is much to see in the City and many Bars and Restaurants to keep you refreshed during your stay. There are parks and other Museums you can visit including the "Museo Privincial" Museum of Jaen Province where you can see a fine collection ofIberian art from the Roman era.
